Project Engineer

Pepperl+Fuchs, a worldwide leader in providing development and manufacturing solutions for the factory and process automation, seeks ambitious, hard-working professional to help us strengthen our position as the leading manufacturer in our markets. We currently have an immediate need for a Project Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs control systems and HMI systems that meet customer specifications and electrical standards such as UL and NEC.
  • Determines selection and application of components needed for systems according to specifications and industry guidelines.
  • Prepares construction documentation including schematics, layouts and installation instructions.
  • Conducts electronic troubleshooting, testing and analysis of overall design.
  • Manages project schedule and budget.
  • Manages multiple projects and activities while prioritizing work consistent with business objectives.
  • Performs various engineering support duties such as creating drawings using CAD software and project documentation using MS Word and Excel.
  • Maintains detailed records and prepares communications as needed.

A successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in process control systems design.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, CAD software and use of intranet and internet.
  • The ability to interpret electronic schematics and circuit theory.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • The ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
  • Maintain a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.

HMI (Monitor Systems) Design Engineer

We currently have an immediate need for a HMI (Monitor Systems) Design Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for HMI (Monitor Systems) Design of standard products including monitors.
  • Evaluates and selects the necessary components, and ensures system functionality under given conditions.
  • Conducts required qualification testing (environmental, EMC, etc.)
  • Supports customized solutions as needed.
  • Works closely with multiple suppliers, purchasing and product portfolio managers to define parts and for establishment of the supply chain.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret all applicable industry standards including hazardous location standards.
  • Works regularly with the norm expert to get the final product certified by the assigned approval agency.
  • Writes design specifications based on the product portfolio manager’s requirements (- specification).
  • Creates and manages project schedules, timelines and budgets.
  • Ensures project completion according to time constraints and budget requirements.
  • Manages multiple projects and activities while prioritizing work consistent with business objectives.
  • Responsible for overall creation of required documentation needed to improve and continue business processes.

A successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in system design.
  • Deep understanding of electronics, specifically knowledge in analog circuits.
  • Basic understanding of digital circuits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and use of intranet and internet.
  • Basic experience in CAD software.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
