Incremental rotary encoders supply a certain number of pulses for each encoder shaft revolution. Measuring or counting the encoder pulses over a unit of time determines rotational speed. Our hollow shaft incremental rotary encoders use a continuous borehole that houses the encoder drive shaft. Recessed hollow shaft encoders have a partial borehole that allows the encoder to be mounted from the front & to have a connector on the back.
